CLG Europe, in partnership with Agora Energiewende and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), is organising a high-level virtual conference to explore how lead markets for climate neutral materials can be created and the role EU policy can play in decarbonising heavy industry.
Creating demand through its internal market and driving investment into innovative technologies and business models in this area will be important for the EU's new global competitive sustainability. These issues will therefore be critical as the EU considers its new industry policy, climate ambition and Green Deal initiatives such as the Sustainable Products Initiative.
The event will allow for the launch of a new Agora Energiewende and CLG Europe report called "Tomorrow's market today" that will give special attention to how policy can help develop demand and create lead markets for climate neutral materials and products.
In the first part of the webinar, Patrick Graichen, Executive Director Agora Energiewende, will present the findings of the CLG Europe/Agora report. Afterwards, Peter ter Kulve, president of Home Care business Unilever, Thomas Ingenlath, CEO Polestar, and Magali Anderson, CSO LafargeHolcim, will discuss the demand for carbon neutral materials and the role of industry policy, moderated by Martin Porter, Executive Chair, CISL Brussels, from the business side.
Chaired by Eliot Whittington, Director CLG Europe, Peter Altmaier, Minister for Economy and Energy Affairs Germany, and Simona Bonafé, Member of the European Parliament (IT), will discuss the views of national and European level decision makers.
Finally, Claire O'Neill, Managing Director Climate and Energy WBCSD, and Eliot Whittington will each present their thoughts.
The participation is free of charge. You can register using the registration buttons at the top and bottom of this page which will directly lead you to the registration page of GoToWebinar.
