Steel, cement, chemicals and aluminium, basic materials that feed into Europe’s industrial value chains, are essential for the European economy and prosperity; they also account for over half of industrial emissions. Decarbonising industry requires using green energy, new processes, material efficiency and circularity. As these industries look to reinvest heavily by 2030, it is crucial these investments serve to kick-start the necessary industry transformation to climate neutrality.
