Following the publication of our analysis "The Power Market Pentagon" Agora Energiewende offered a webinar where two of the authors, Matthias Buck and Christian Redl, both from Agora Energiewende, presented its key messages and took questions from the audience during the Q&A session.
The publication develops a consistent mix of measures (the “power-market pentagon”) that will allow for a cost-efficient transition to an approximate share of 50 percent renewable electricity in the power system by 2030. Its main focus is on interactions between EU power market design, EU emissions trading, national coal phase-out initiatives, renewable energy investments, and measures for safeguarding system adequacy.
