Danish meets German energy transition

Lessons learned series – event 3

This event offered some 70 participants from Denmark and beyond a closer look at the implementation of the energy transition in Germany and in Denmark. Both countries are undergoing the transition from a fossil fuel-based system towards a system with high shares of variable renewable generation. There are many opportunities, but also challenges that Denmark and Germany have in common – and where we can learn a lot from each other.

During this event participants and speakers engaged in a German-Danish energy policy dialogue with presentations given by experts from Germany and Denmark, followed by subsequent panel discussions.

  • What are recent developments in German energy policy?
  • And what is happening in Denmark?
  • How can these developments affect one other?
  • What is the German and the Danish perspective on the integration of wind energy across borders?
  • What are the initial and next steps for implementing cross-border auctions for renewables?

The slides shown during the event can be downloaded from the media-section below.
