At Agora Sophie Godeffroy worked on strategic development and key issues of the energy transition. Her work focused on measures to be taken in the electricity and heat sector until 2030 to reach the European and German climate targets.
Before, Sophie Godeffroy was employed by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. There she worked on key issues of the electricity sector, electricity market design, combined heat and power and structural change in the coal regions since 2014. For her work at Agora, Sophie is granted leave from the Ministry. In the winter 2018/2019 she worked as a national expert in professional training in the cabinet of the European commissioner for competition Margrethe Vestager. She started her professional career at Adelphi consult. There she first worked as a consultant to the Federal Ministry for the Environment on market integration of renewable energies in the Renewable Energies Platform. Then she worked as a consultant to the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy on electricity market design issues in the Electricity Market Design Platform.
Sophie Godeffroy studied economics at the University of Heidelberg and environmental policy and regulation at the London School of Economics.
