Until August 2021 Nina Zetsche was Senior Associate Climate-Neutral Industry at Agora Energiewende. Prior to joining Agora, she worked for over nine years at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as specialized agency of the United Nations focusing on inclusive and sustainable industrial development in developing countries and emerging economies. As Industrial Development Officer as well as the organization’s Environmental and Social Safeguards Officer, she was in charge of the development and implementation of diverse projects, especially in the area of renewable energy in Latin America and the Caribbean. Amongst others, she advised governments as well as industry and civil society representatives on the use of resource-efficient and environmentally-friendly technologies and processes. Moreover, she was responsible for the quality assurance and partnership coordination for UNIDO projects with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) as well as the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Prior to this, Nina was active in the private sector; from 2008 until 2012 she coordinated climate change mitigation projects as well as various components of the strategic ‘Carbon Neutral Project’ for the international supply chain manager Noble Group and from 2005 to 2008 she co-led the division for Monitoring &Verification for Ecosecurities worldwide.
Nina Zetsche holds a BSc (Economics) in Politics and International Relations from LSE (External Programme), a MA in Communication Science from LMU in Munich as well as a MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College in London.
