Ernst works on power system transformations in Southeast Asia. He is a project manager in Agora Energiewende’s international team. His work revolves around electricity market design, energy policy, and the integration of renewable energy sources. Based in Bangkok, Ernst collaborates with regional partners, government stakeholders, and industry to assess opportunities for market reform and expedite the shift towards renewables-based electricity systems in the region.
Prior to joining Agora Energiewende in 2022, Ernst worked as a project manager at adelphi and the International Carbon Action Partnership in Berlin where he led their work on carbon pricing in the electricity sector and delivered projects for a variety of public sector clients. Before that, he was with the International Energy Agency in Paris and the Clingendael Institute in The Hague. Ernst graduated from Sciences Po’s master's programme in International Energy and he holds an MSc in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam.
