Dr. Christian Redl
Senior Associate European Energy Cooperation
Christian Redl is part of the Power system Transformation team at Agora Energiewende where he focuses on power market design in the context of the Pentalateral Energy Forum region (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland). A refined power market design, regionally embedded, shall enable both increased power system flexibility and options for cross-border cooperation to achieve energy transition targets efficiently.
From 2012 to 2013, Christian worked for an international energy consulting firm in the Netherlands focusing on electricity market design, power system planning and renewables integration. Before that, he worked as a research associate at Vienna University of Technology from 2005 to 2011 where he was dealing with energy scenarios and decarbonisation roadmaps. Christian studied at Vienna University of Technology and holds a PhD in energy economics.
