Julius Christian Adiatma

Julius Christian Adiatma is working as a researcher for the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), an Indonesian energy and climate policy think tank. He specializes in clean fuel technology and policy. He is currently conducting research on the Indonesian energy transition strategy in the transportation sector and the impact of electric vehicle penetration to Indonesia’s climate effort. This is also the topic Julian works on during his EnerTracks Fellowship at Agora Energiewende. Besides, he also participated in other research on energy transition (such as coal phasing out, solar energy auction, etc.).

Prior to working for IESR, he worked as researcher and engineer in multiple companies, mostly related to biogas and anaerobic fermentation technology for waste stream utilization. Julius completed his Master’s degree in Biotechnology at Wageningen University, the Netherlands, focusing on biological processes in environmental technology.
