Dr. Shuwei  Zhang

Shuwei Zhang has joined the international team of Agora Energiewende in late 2016. He focuses on the economics and policies of the energy transition worldwide, and especially in emerging economies like China. As a native Chinese, Shuwei started his career as a researcher for China’s giant power utility State Grid. Afterwards he gained experience in climate mitigation policy at the Potsdam Institute (PIK) in Germany, and as an analyst and manager of large-scale interdisciplinary projects in the International Energy Agency. Shuwei earned his degree in engineering physics and energy system analysis at Tsinghua University in Beijing (with distinction).
